We know it can be difficult to tell a good quality, pre-owned vehicle from one that may be a real problem. So, to help you pick out the best from the rest, here are some important points to note:

1. Go to a dealer with a reputation for integrity.

2. Inspect the vehicle carefully, in daylight, and don't be in a hurry. If you aren't sure what to look for, get a friend or mechanic to help you.

3. Consider getting a CarFax report - the cost is very small compared to the peace of mind you get from knowing your vehicle's history.

4. Is there a service history for the vehicle? Has it been properly maintained?

5. is it priced too low? If a vehicle is being sold at a lot less than its usual value, that may be a red flag that it's got a problem.

6. Always take a test drive of at least 10 minutes in the vehicle, and do not listen to the radio - listen to the engine, the transmission, or any strange noises!
